Welcome to the world of VEGAS GAMES,
VEGAS SLOTS is a $.25 slot machine simulation. This
simulation is based on some of the popular slot machines that
are in use in Las Vegas and Atlantic City as well as on
cruise ships, Bahamas and places where such machines are
legal.
Slot machines are really simple to operate. You insert the
monies and pull the handle. That's all there is to it or so
it would seem. The real strategies come into play while you
are entering your bets, deciding if the machine is on a
losing streak (paying off) or the machine is on a winning
streak (taking your money). The machines operate on a random
chance principal for paying off. In places where gambling is
not regulated there has been in the past incidents where the
wheels have been "weighted" to decrease your chance of
winning. VEGAS SLOTS has clean wheels. The random chance
element presents the player with the unique possibility of a
large payoff with the playing of just one coin. This random
element has been "captured" in VEGAS SLOTS. We have
programed in a similar random chance possibility for winning.
We have changed the odds slightly to make the game more
playable on your home computer. This really does not
detract from the game. You may use VEGAS SLOTS to practice
up for a trip to where machines are legal or just for some
quick relaxing moments of just plain fun. However, be fore-
warned the game can become addicting.

The real fun here is that you won't go broke trying for that
big payoff.
A. How VEGAS SLOTS operates.
VEGAS SLOTS will play on IBM and compatibles that use MS-DOS
VERSION 2.1 and above. It will play on CGA, EGA and VGA
screens. It will play on most monochrome monitors also. To
load the game just type VEGASLOT at the DOS prompt. You
should make a back up copy of the original and store it in a
safe place should your working copy become damaged.
B. INTRODUCTION SCREEN
The introduction screen will come up first. There is a
rolling sound that is generated as the screen is scrolling.
This sound will be a good indicator as to whether you want
the game to play at a fast speed or a slow speed.
C. INSTRUCTION SCREEN
The instruction screen will introduce you to the game and
show you the winning combinations that will pay off should
they come up.
The following are those combinations:

This combination or any other combination, all on the same
pay line will pay 1 quarter or $.25.
Note, that on any winning combination, the payoff is in
addition to the amount that you wagered. So your winnings
are paid off plus your original wager. This is a departure
from most of the actual machines in use but for this home
version, it helps give the game better playability.
As you exit the instruction area of the screen you are
presented the option of printing a registration form for the
game or to continue on. Press (P) to print the form or the
space bar to continue on. As with all shareware games, you
must register the program if you like the product. This
enables the authors to continue producing quality products.
Without that incentive of users registering their programs,
shareware programming authors will not continue to produce

quality programs at a fraction of commercial prices. The
shareware principal can only work in this manner. Many
authors will supply you with additional programs, documents
and program updates, --FREE-- simply because they're pleased
that you did register the program. Help make it work.
D. FAST OR SLOW COMPUTER
This screen enables you to select whether or not you have a
slow or a fast computer. As mentioned earlier about the
opening screen, the speed and sound will be a gauge as to
whether you want the program to run fast or slow. In the
mode for slow computers the rolling sounds for the wheels is
deleted to speed up the program execution. This is the only
difference between the two choices. Fast computers like a
286 AT style machine will run just fine. Super fast
computers may need their "turbo" switched turned off.
Experiment and see what works best. The game works best if
not in an environment, some TSR's can lock up the program.
E. THE GAME PLAY SCREEN
This is where the game action takes place. After a short
demonstration, the game will prompt you to begin. In the
center of the screen, notice that there is a window that
instructs you about the "paylines". $.25 will play the
center payline, .50 will play the center and upper line and

.75 will play all three. The paylines are normally red, but
after you enter a bet, they will light up yellow to show
which paylines are active. Choose your payline by enter 1
for a .25 bet, 2 for a .50 bet and 3 for a .75 bet. When you
enter your bet the "arm is pulled so to speak" to spin the
wheels. You start the game with $25.00 worth of quarters or
100 spins of the wheel. The middle line of the center window
will keep track of your monies. This constantly monitors
your winnings and losses. If you should lose all your monies
then you will have to start all over. The two side windows
are there to keep track of the action. There also is a sort
of automatic wagering feature in this program. When you are
asked to enter your bet, if you hold down that key 1, 2 or 3
for a few seconds it will place that same bet over and over.
If you should hear an abnormal buzz or bell that means you
have overloaded the keyboard buffer. The downside of this
feature is that if you should happen onto a losing streak and
want to switch to a lower betting status, you will have to
wait until all of the autobets have been played out. At this
time we should address some betting strategy. VEGAS SLOTS
just like the actual machines get "HOT" for a period of time.
When this is happening you will want to play
all three paylines so as to maximize your winnings.
Likewise some machines have their "cool" time where you
might just bet a single payline or quit and collect your
winnings. If you keep track of your play and record your

winnings and losses over a period of time you can develop
your own strategy.
F. SUMMARY
The game is addicting. At times you will be tempted to look
where the quarters are being dropped around your computer.
Sorry but this is only a simulation.

HIGH LOW CARDS,
HIGH LOW CARDS is a twist on the old card game of cutting the
deck of cards to see who draws the higher card. In this game
of chance you bet your opponent to see who will draw the
higher card. This colorful, visually exciting game will
provide many hours of entertainment for you to enjoy.
A. How HIGH LOW CARDS operates.
HIGH LOW CARDS plays very easy. The opening screens go
through the titles and opening credits for the game.
Press (P) to print a registration. The next screen you come
to is the game play screen. The screen looks like this,

1.) The two top windows on the left and right side are for
the bank accounts for you and the computer. These will
automatically keep tract of you winnings and losses, and will
be updated after every play.
2.) The center window between the two decks of cards is the

wager window. This window will constantly update the betting
action as the game proceeds and will clear before the next
round of betting takes place.
3.) The action window is the low window below the two decks
of cards. This window will prompt you for what action to
take as the game proceeds.
B. GAME PLAY
The first thing you do when you begin game play is to enter
the bank account money. Both you and the computer will have
the same amount, after all, any game that involves betting
requires both players to have the same amount of money.
Enter an amount between $100 and $1000. The bank windows
will then show this amount after you press enter.
The next action you will do is to enter a bet between $1 and
$20 and press enter. The computer will do one of three
things at this time. The computer will accept the bet and
ask you to hit the space bar, decline the bet and forfeit his
bet and you win, or increase your originally bet. If the
computer increases the bet you may decline or accept the new
bet. If you decline then you lose the bet and the betting
starts over. If you accept the raise from the computer you
are asked if you want to increase the wager again. If you
answer "no" then you are asked to cut the deck by pressing
the space bar. If you answer "yes" then the action window
will prompt you to enter the amount of the increase, you

are permitted a $10 to $30 raise at this time. Enter the
amount you wish to raise the bet and press enter. You then
will be asked to press the spacebar to cut the deck.
When you cut the deck the winner is determined and the
winnings and losses are added and deducted. There is also
the possibility because you are each using a complete deck of
cards, that you might have a tie or two of the same cards
drawn at this time. If that situation occurs, you will then
be prompted to up the bet again $10 to $30. The tie can also
occur more than once.
This is the game play from the start. To end the game there
are two choices. When prompted to cut the deck, if you press
the escape key the game will end. Another way, and you will
know this only if you read this manual, is to enter a bet of
99 and press enter.
C.SUMMARY
If you should happen to run out of money the game play will
continue. If the computer runs out of money the game also
will continue. The house extends credit for the players who
loses their monies. The game play is easy, strategy for
betting is easy to learn and the combination of nice graphics
makes for an easy entertaining game.
